Heading into the race in Owen Sound On, it was a three way battle tie for 1st place in the Pro Stock Regional Points Championship between #115 Dave Joanis #73 Lee Butler, and #98 Michael Island.
altThat all changed after a great weekend for Joanis! Dave won both his Pro Stock qualifiers which earned him gate pick #1 in the final. When the flag dropped #999 Vandolder got the holeshot which put him in an early lead with Joanis on his heals. Dave took his time, watching every move Vandolder was making and with only a few laps remaining, Joanis made his move. He slipped by Vandolder and took the win in front of Vandolder's home town. Butler finished 3rd. It was a very exciting race and win for the Bourque's Polaris Racing Team as it meant Joanis was now taking over the lead in the Pro Stock Regional Points Championship.

In Pro Open, Dave had a mishap in his first qualifier where he finished in 6th, then finished 2nd in his 2nd qualifier and 1st in his 3rd qualifier. He lined-up for the Final and the race was red flagged due to a crash in the first corner. Dave spun out on ice on the re-start which left him needing to fly to make up time and position. Dave charged his way through the 15 lap final but as he was getting closer and closer to the hard charging front runners, he ran out of time. He finishing in 4th place which bumps him up a position to 2nd place in the Pro Open Regional Points Championship.

Dave has shown that he is in the best shape of his carreer, thanks to his personal trailer Drew Robertson from Evolved Nutrition. Dave did not run out of stamina just laps. Dave said
"I have to thank the incredibly talented Iantomasi Brothers and the Crew! My Polaris Stock and Open sleds are so well tuned and fast that it makes my job a lot easier. I can just concentrate on going out there and winning races!"

The next CSRA race is not until Feb 13th in Barrie Ontario, therefore, Dave and his team are heading this weekend to race the Eastern ISOC Nationals in Farmington NY. Dave is fired-up to compete against some of the best riders in the world.
