Justin Hoyer put in an impressive performance last January, taking the gold medal in freestyle snowmobile at Winter X Games in Aspen. Shortly after, Hoyer and I were talking about the fact that he and Swedish rider Daniel Bodin were both legitimate freestylers on dirt bikes too. He then revealed to me that his thoughts were to try and get into the summer version of freestyle, on tires instead of skis and a track.

Royal Distributing-Factory Recreation Rockstar Energy Season Wrap Up.... Another Title Season for Butler

With the early spring weather, the final National Event at Horseshoe Valley resort had to be cancelled.  Royal-Rockstar's Lee Butler held a commanding lead in the National Pro Stock Standings. Butler was tied in Points with Iain Hayden in the National Pro Open standings.  Due to the fact that Lee had two National victories to Hayden's one, Lee Was declared the Open National Champion.  Lee and the entire team would have preferred to settle the Championship on the racetrack, but the weather would not co-operate. Lee took some injury licks this season and rode through them to the titles and numerous moto and final wins and podiums.

The 2010 Canadian Snowcross Series came to an unexpected end when an all-time record heat wave combined with high winds and rain forced the cancellation of the Dayco National Championships at Horseshoe Resort. Playing host to the last event of the season in the early days of April, Horseshoe has come through year after year with more than enough snow to put together an incredible finale, this year they were left with their hands tied as a result of the unseasonable weather marking the first time the event has ever been cancelled.
