It’s time to reinvigorate and recharge the snowmobile market, and On Snow Magazine is poised to do just that. With a landscape filled with me-too publications, On Snow Magazine will launch in the fall of 2010 in the United States snowmobile marketplace with bold, fresh content, stunning production quality, and will reach a snowmobile audience traditional publications don’t.

“We’ve had tremendous success with OSM in Canada,” said Publisher Richard Kehoe. “Last winter we beefed up our staff with long time industry veterans like Jeff Steenbakkers and Pat Bourgeois, and really transformed the magazine. The response has been extremely positive and we’ve been getting requests all winter long to bring the book to the US market.”

Patterned after their leading off-road and motocross publication ATV World and MXP, which exceeds 200 pages nearly every issue, OSM has introduced a true lifestyle publication to snowmobile enthusiasts with guest editorials from some of the true innovators in the sport along with incredible photography. The magazine speaks to an extremely active market that until now, has been watching the traditional snowmobile culture from the sidelines. Wrapped in a high gloss shell and perfect bound, OSM stands out and breaks through the clutter.

“We’ve drawn a lot of comparisons to other successful non-snowmobiling magazines over the past couple years,” said Kehoe. “Magazines like Racer X and TransWorld Snowboarding are leaders in their respective industries, and while we won’t duplicate their style, we’ve looked at what has made them successful and applied that in our own unique way to OSM.”

That formula will now be introduced to the US snowmobile market in the fall of 2010 with Pat Bourgeois taking the reigns for editorial direction. Bourgeois has been a voice in the snowmobile arena since 1993, when he began his snowmobile journalism career under the tutelage of CJ Ramstad. Over the past 17 years, Pat has worked on both sides of the journalistic page, employed by Harley-Davidson and Polaris Industries before returning to his journalistic roots two years ago.

“If there is one thing I’ve learned more than anything else from my mentor and friend CJ, is snowmobile publications need to not just inform but also entertain.” Pat said. “This past year, the staff at OSM worked hard to deliver a magazine that pulls no punches and engages the reader with great stories. We’ve got some great guest writers lined up for the US edition and some stories with a totally different twist.”

Already advertisers are jumping on-board to be a part of the US version of On Snow Magazine, with the first edition schedule to hit mailboxes in early September. Joining the publication will be an expanded version of the accompanying website, osm-mag.com.
