As I look out the window on this beautiful afternoon I think to myself, where has the summer gone? We have already moved the watercraft and boats out of our showroom, and we are bringing in the sleds – SWEET! So that can only mean one thing, fall has arrived. With that being said, the snocross season is fast approaching. So it’s time to get down to business and train hard for the upcoming season. However, before we get into that, here is what I’ve been up to.

Towards the end of August, I was able to drive my Uncle’s stock car for my first time at Sunset Speedway. What a rush! Things happen quickly, and there is little room for error with 22 cars on a half mile race track. I started on the inside of row 11, 21st place. I managed to steer clear of all wrecks that happened around me and work my way up to an 11th place finish! Not too bad for my first crack at it, but I’m looking to improve. If you’re at the race track look out for our number 29 Royal Distributing / Factory Recreation Dodge, late model.

Before the snow fell, I had one more mission to complete; the annual “Elmvale Thursday Night League Fastball Championship Tournament.”  With sunshine filled days and a couple cool fall nights the Elmvale Merchants, the team I play for, came out victorious. With some huge help from the bullpen and little from the bats, the Merchants had a perfect weekend, being crowned the 2009 champions. Way to go guys!!

I will be flying out West to work with a trainer by the name of Drew Robertson at Evolved Nutrition. I think I’m in for a rude awaking when it comes to training. I have a few buddies; Iain Hayden and Lee Butler, that have worked with him, and by their track record I think I am making a smart move. I’m really excited for the upcoming snowmobile race season, where I’ll be riding the 202 Royal distributing/ Factory Recreation/ Ski-Doo again with my new teammate Lee Butler. I am stoked to have Lee as a teammate as we are really good friends on and off the snocross track, and I’m really anxious to take our team to the top.

Summer fun is over for yet another year and there is little time for relaxation. I intend to have a full daily schedule between working out, boat winterization and storage, getting the sleds brought out, the Toronto Snowmobile, ATV & Powersports Show (October 16-18), friends, family, and with my beautiful girlfriend in the equation, my schedule is jammed!

Until next time, see you at the track! J
